“Women of the Wall” Program on Zoom

While living in Jerusalem, Cantor Havillo became active with the Women of the Wall Movement and is also known as the “Cantor of the Kotel”.
Women of the Wall is a multi-denominational Jewish feminist organization based in Israel. Its goal is to secure the rights of women to pray at the Western Wall, also called the Kotel, in a manner that includes singing, reading/chanting aloud from the Torah, and wearing religious garments, like a Talit and Tefilin. The Women of the Wall movement aims to change the status quo that is currently preventing women from being able to pray freely at the Western Wall.
