Meet Our Staff
Har Sinai’s staff has over 116 combined years of dedicated service to our Temple community, advanced degrees, community accolades and a love of all things Judaica.
This committed team is the backbone of our Temple life and there is no job too big or too small for them to undertake. From oneg Shabbat offerings to annual High holy Holidays to change in Lifecycle celebrations, they make every event warm and inviting for our community. Working together they ensure everything from our grounds, our greetings and our gatherings are the best they can be.

Our Director of Education
Magda Reyes has served as Har Sinai Temple’s Director of Education since June 2002. Magda oversees our Religious School and youth activities, as well as facilitates family, Sisterhood and adult education programming. She teaches Hebrew High School classes, conducts teacher workshops and facilitates our Religious Education Committee (REC) meetings. In addition, Magda participates in ongoing professional development programs, is a member of National Association of Temple Educators (NATE) and is an active member of the local Principal's Council.
Magda’s love for Jewish education comes from the deep respect she holds for her religion and the drive to ensure Jewish religion and culture live on through new generations. As a daughter of Holocaust survivors, growing up in Eastern Europe behind the Iron Curtain in the sixties, she had first-hand knowledge of anti-Semitism under the Communist regime. When Soviet tanks rolled into her town to squash Prague Spring, the first attempts at liberal reforms, her family made the decision to emigrate to the West. With only tourist visas in hand and the clothes on their backs, they crossed the border to freedom. After a few misadventures in assimilating to American culture and society (ask her sometime about her first exposure to baseball!) she settled in New Jersey with her family.
Magda attended Hunter College and Pace University in NYC where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She also holds a Master's in Religious Education from Hebrew Union College and a graduate certificate in teaching from The College of New Jersey. Prior to beginning her teaching career, she was an associate economist with The Conference Board in NYC. She has taught preschool, elementary and middle school children at Congregation Beth Chaim, summer camps and enrichment programs in both religious and public schools. She was Religious School Education Coordinator at Congregation Beth Chaim before becoming Director of Education at Har Sinai Temple.
Our Director of Music
Susan Sacks has acted as Har Sinai's Religious School Director of Music for over 20 years. It is a pleasure for her to work with Har Sinai's wonderful teaching staff and students. Susan keeps current with The Reform Movement's music by her yearly attendance at Hava Nashira, a five-day Jewish song-leading workshop in Wisconsin. She has also attended several CAJE conferences.
During the High Holy Days, Susan co-leads the Junior Congregation services. Throughout the year, she helps lead class Shabbat services and other services from time to time. Susan has taught music and toddler classes at various synagogues and preschools.
Before moving to our area, Susan taught both middle school and high school Spanish as well as English as a Second Language. Susan has a bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College and her master’s degree from CW Post Center (Long Island University). She lives with her husband, Fred, and has two sons, Evan and Jeff.
Our Office Administrator
Laura Reiser has worked as Har Sinai's office administrator for almost 30 years. During that time, she has worked with 15 board presidents, 4 rabbis, 5 cantors, 6 educators, 4 administrative assistants and 1 building supervisor. Laura oversees all the daily operations of our temple. She works to engage our congregants in every aspect of Temple life while helping both clergy and leadership to achieve their goals for the future of our community.
After receiving her degree from Miami University of Ohio, Laura spent eight years in the editorial and production departments at Macmillan Company and Ballantine Books in New York City.
As a volunteer, Laura has served as president of National Council of Jewish Women, Lower Makefield Women's American ORT and on our Sisterhood committee. Additionally, Laura was a recipient of the Jewish Community Center's Young Leadership Award.
Laura and her husband, Jim, have a son, a daughter and 3 beautiful grandchildren. They divide their free time between New York and Maryland.
Our Office Assistant
Robyn Shortall has worked as our Office Assistant since 2011. In addition to regular office duties such as filing, handling calls and greeting visitors, Robyn has the unique opportunity to interact with everyone from our pre-school students and parents, to the most esteemed elder members of our Congregation. She loves the rich history here at Har Sinai, both of our Temple and our amazing members.
Robyn has a background in management, overseeing both chain stores and local businesses. She spent a few years as an assistant chef at Cafe Con Leche in PA. The experience rounded out her cooking skills and inspires her fresh cooking at home.
She and her husband enjoy biking in Bucks County, rehabbing a home in Florida and spending time with family, friends and their English Bulldog, Louie.
